Faron Young was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2000. In 1951, he was invited to play on the Louisiana Hayride while he was attending college. The Hayride helped launch many aspiring stars into the country music limelight. His big break came when he signed a record label in 1952. In 1953, a song which Faron wrote titled "Goin' Steady" became his first song on the charts. Faron continued to record hits into the 1980's and he never turned down an opportunity to perform in front of a live audience.
