Ray Price has been recording chart-topping hit songs for over 50 years. He was first known for his self-styled, honky tonk dance hall songs. As time passed, Ray evolved into a silky smooth ballad singer. The change of pace was viewed skeptically by some critics at first, but the overwhelming acceptance of his new style soon made it his trademark. While he was in college, Ray began singing at local gigs. In 1948, Ray made his radio debut as "The Cherokee Cowboy." In 1955, Ray recorded his first #1 hit. The song, "Crazy Arms," Stayed at #1 for 20 weeks and soon crossed over into Pop charts. In the 50+ years of his illustrious recording career, he has received countless awards and accolades.
